Overview

Interfaith Career Network (ICN) is a fellowship of men and women with a common desire to become employed or seek career advancement through a Christian forum.  All programs are open to everyone and there are no dues or fees for membership.

Our purpose is to prepare and enable individuals to successfully complete their job search by finding meaningful employment in a timely manner.

ICN is composed of interdenominational churches in the La Grange and Western Springs area committed to assisting area residents in career transition whether they are unemployed, employed or looking to re-enter/enter the workforce.

Interview Preparation / Career Coaching

Get yourself prepared to interview effectively and present yourself in the best possible manner.  Tom Tisa, an experienced HR Director, is available to meet with job seekers to do interview preparation and/or career coaching.

Call Tom at 630-850-3269 to schedule a time to meet individually with Tom at the Career Center at the First Baptist Church, 20 N Ashland Ave, in La Grange.  There is no charge for this tremendously helpful time with Tom.

Programs Offered

Our main method of communication is through this site and our Yahoo! Group.  Once you attend an ICN event, you will be invited to join our Yahoo Group.  Yahoo Group members automatically receive electronic notices about upcoming meetings, job openings and job search tools and tips.

ICN activities revolve around these regularly scheduled events:

Career Center Open House - First and Third Wednesday
Held the first and third Wednesday of each month from 7pm - 9pm.  The Center is volunteer staffed to help with internet usage, resume and cover letter preparation and electronic job seeking skills.

Speaker Presentations
Programs with a speaker are offered on the third Thursday of each month starting at 7:00pm.

Quarterly Resume Reviews
Held quarterly on Saturdays from 9:00am until 11:00am. Bring your resume and spend 20 minutes with a professional resume reviewer. Three to four Human Resources, Search and other professionals are on hand to meet with you, one-on-one, to review your resume and offer suggestions and ideas for enhancement.

Job Skills Boot Camp Workshop

This workshop is offered three times each year for five consecutive weeks from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
