OverviewInterfaith Career Network (ICN) is a fellowship of men and women with a common desire to become employed or seek career advancement through a Christian forum. All programs are open to everyone and there are no dues or fees for membership. Interfaith Career Network is dedicated to providing the following services to all in need.
ICN is composed of interdenominational churches in the La Grange and Western Springs area committed to assisting area residents in career transition whether they are unemployed, employed or looking to re-enter/enter the workforce. | Programs OfferedOur main method of communication is through this site and our Yahoo! Group. Once you attend an ICN event, you will be invited to join our Yahoo Group. Yahoo Group members automatically receive electronic notices about upcoming meetings, job openings and job search tools and tips. ICN activities revolve around these regularly scheduled events:
View the ICN Calendar to see the most current list of meetings and workshops. Weekly Career Center Open House Held every Wednesday from 7pm - 9pm. The Center is volunteer staffed to help with internet usage, resume and cover letter preparation and electronic job seeking skills. Monthly Presentations Programs with a speaker are offered the third Thursday of each
month starting at 7:00pm. Monthly Networking Sessions Occur the first Thursday of every month starting at 7:00pm.
Please bring copies of your resume, networking handbill, or business
cards to distribute. Do not know what a handbill is? No problem! We will spend
time going over this important networking tool. Already a networking pro? We
will break into groups so the experienced networkers can spend more time
networking with others. We suggest setting a goal to meet and follow-up with
1-2 people after the meeting. Quarterly Resume Reviews Held quarterly on Saturdays from 9:00am until 11:00am. Bring
your resume and spend 20 minutes with a professional resume reviewer. Six to
eight Human Resources, Search and other professionals are on hand to meet with
you, one-on-one, to review your resume and offer suggestions and ideas for
enhancement. Job Skills Support Workshop
This workshop is offered three times each year for six consecutive weeks from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. |
